Orlando: A Great Family Spring Break Spot 2

Don’t forget that Sea World is also here in Orlando, not just Disney World, and is also well worth seeing. Check to see if there are any special package deals that combine all the attractions during the time you’re planning to visit.

While the aforementioned land package is only $199.00, which is quite inexpensive, begin searching the Internet for air/hotel packages to see if there are cheaper deals.  If you stay within a 5-mile radius of the park, there is usually a complimentary shuttle service available.

Book early!  With the current recession, most travelers will be choosing destinations that are closer to home.  Yes, people who live in Florida DO go to visit these places, especially on school trips, so plan ahead.

Look at the different packages you find on line, and compare them carefully. If the package you choose offers a car rental, you may consider staying at a hotel that is more than five miles from the park.  This will save money in the long run, especially now that the price of gas has done down.

TIP:  If you are pressed for time, and depending on the weather, visit Walt Disney World in the morning hours and Sea World in the afternoon.

Stop by Epcot for dinner and visit the fabulous sites there during the evening hours.  Check with the parks for the special show times as well, for example, the Shamu killer whale show, and animal feeding times.

Make the most of your trip to Orlando by planning ahead. You’ll be glad you did!

Go Western This Spring Break: Try The Houston Livestock Show

If you’ve never been to a rodeo show, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo may be just the destination for you this Spring Break.

The Livestock Show and Rodeo has been entertaining visitors for over seventy years.  It is known as having the “world’s largest livestock exhibition” and is considered one of the best entertainment venues in Texas.

Beginning March 3 through March 22, this is one Spring Break vacation you will remember for a lifetime.

To begin with, there are the exciting rodeo competitions and livestock competitions where exhibitors from across the U.S. compete in categories such as “From Bulls to Llamas” and for the title of champion.

In addition, there is a World Championship Barbeque contest (which begins on February 26th to the 28th), entertainment, parades, shopping, and a variety of activities that will leave you exhausted by the end of the day.  There are horse shows, wine shows, concerts, and more.

Moreover, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo offers Value Days.  On every Wednesday in March, you will be able to get the following:

* $10 Value Day Rodeo/Concert Ticket in the upper level of Reliant Stadium (includes Reliant Park admission).  Choose from the three Wednesday superstar entertainers and championship rodeo action.

* $20 Value Day Package (includes Reliant Park admission).  Choose from the following:

   – Three Wednesday superstar entertainers (upper level ticket in Reliant Stadium)
   – Championship rodeo action
   – Free Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 75th Anniversary Commemorative Cookbook (for the first 5,000 orders of four tickets or more — available while supplies last — purchases must be made at the Show’s Ticket Window only)
   – One Prince’s hamburger or one personal Papa John’s pizza in Reliant Stadium
   – One Coca-Cola product fountain drink in Reliant Stadium
   – Two carnival ride coupons

There are also games, food and select ride specials throughout the show.

In addition, you will get the following:

* $5 off official Rodeo merchandise with $25 purchase, one half-price pony ride, one half-price pony ride photo, and one petting zoo feed cone.

* $5 Value Day Reliant Park Admission (does not include rodeo/concert admission).

* Free Value Day Reliant Park Admission for seniors, 60 and over, and children, 12 and under — (does not include rodeo/concert admission).

* $5 Value Day Miller Lite Main Street Lot Parking (available until 3 p.m. each Wednesday).

Check out the Houston Livestock and Rodeo website.

This is a Spring Break vacation that is jam-packed with events and great fun for  your friends, or if you decide to get away with the entire family!

Even if you don’t like rodeos, Houston has a lot to offer for the visitor to the city, with its rich history, incluiding excellent excursions to nearby locales like Victoria, a 19th century town which has preserved its heritage as well.
