The Hana Lava Tube Cave, Maui 1

The Hana Lava Tube Cave, Maui 1

If you are looking for an incredible family adventure, one that you
will never forget, why not consider a trip to the Hana Lave Tube Cave.
Situated on the island of Maui, in Hawaii, it is considered one of the
world’s largest natural wonders of its type.

As the name suggests, the Hana Lava Tube Cave was formed by lava from
the volcanic activity for which Hawaii is famous.

Free of bats and mosquitoes, the underground lavascape, with its
numerous stalagmites and stalactites, provides visitors with amazing
photo opportunities.

Though this natural wonder is known for its comfortable temperatures
throughout the year, one needs to be physically fit to visit this
natural territory, so it is probably not going to be suitable for
children under 12 unless they are accustomed to a lot of walking.

There are no sharp and jagged edges on the walls of this cave, which
has been formed by the cooling of liquid rock that flowed through its
passage hundreds of years ago. There is no waiting time required,
since facilities for self-guided tours are available too.

Though the floor is horizontal, it is recommended that those visiting
the caves wear sturdy shoes with adequate protection on the soles,
since the floor consists of sharp basaltic debris. Flip flops are a no
no.

Those visiting this natural wonder might also love to wander through
the Red Ti Botanical Garden maze, another magical part of this
incredible natural wonder on Maui.
